It is very important to be anonymous. You can never be to safe. This is in support of your own security and protection. You can block contacts from members that bother you or offensive people. You would be surprised how often people encounter security problems with people doing things that would offend anyone.

            Before you even contact these people it is important that you know exactly what it is that you are looking for. Think this through so that you are not through a bunch of unnecessary emails and contacts. What type of relationship are you seeking? Are you looking for a long-term relationship or just new friends?
